“Planking is the act of lying facedown for a photograph. The term planking originated from Australia but is actually just another name for 'the lying down game' (I'm not kidding). The specific instructions: to put your body face down to the ground (or table, or object, or anything) with your arms to the side.”
My thoughts? Here goes:
I have no problem with anyone doing planking. I don’t care about your reasons - be it to become popular or to prove something.
But, I have a huge problem if you do this in my school uniform. It’s the school uniform that I wore with pride for five years.
Sure, it’s not the prettiest.
I’ve been teased by high school batchmates who went to Sta. Isabel and Colegio de San Juan de Letran and during that time, yes, I thought their uniforms looked better than mine.Neither is it the most comfortable.
I’ve fallen more than once while wearing that pencil-cut skirt. I have to hike it up to my thighs when I had to brave the floods in Manila. It has always, always been a huge effort to ride a jeepney. But it is such great honor to be able to wear it.
To be given the privilege, you have to do a great job at the PLM Admissions Test for you to get in and you have to give blood, sweat and tears (like the rest of us did) just to stay inside. I fought hard to remain an Iska and proudly I graduated as one.So, doing a
Plank all you want but take that uniform off. Do it in the nude for all I care. Show a little respect to the University and to the Local Government of Manila that is paying for your college tuition fee.

Nakakainis nga. Eh naka school uniform pa naman..
Personally, I find it stupid.. with the uniform on or otherwise. Ano ba kasi ang magandang reason para mahiga (usually sa sahig) face-down.. and then never moving. Hmm.. I'm sure may mga rason naman sila.. but I just don't get it.
Stupid lang. My opinion.
Oh My!!! I am equally disgusted seeing the photos. :-(
I am an iska too Sis Mae.
100% agree on your thoughts. Plank all they want but not in/while wearing our PLM uniform. Pls!!!
It's not funny at all!!!
Don't they take pride being an Iska/Isko? Baka naman these PLM students are the type na hindi nahirapan makapasa sa Admission test!!! Or those that are not proud na newspaper fee lang ang kelangan nilang biyaran per sem? *double sigh*
I totally agree that riding a jeepney takes a lot of effort in our pencil skirt.. but I do miss it sometimes :)
Thanks again for reposting, Mae.
Makes me feel that I've done a wee bit for our Alma Mater's reputation :)
Thanks for your replies, girls. I am just overly disgusted by these students.
Nonsense talaga what they are doing and really wala akong pakelam if they do it basta lang not wearing the school uniform.
Thankfully, somebody took notice. The current president of PLM-SSC commented, see screencap here:

Kaya siguro non-existent na yung FB page ng PLM Planking. I hope these students get reprimanded or at most suspended for a few days para matuto.
im a PLMayer too, and i was very annoyed to see their stunts with our uniform.
you know what's more annoying - kasi it's not an original idea. be famous on your own trick, wag ka mangopya. STEALING IS A CRIME - nasa blackboard yan everytime may exam ako sa PLM before..
i've seen a lot of pictures of people doing that. though i really don't find anything nice about planking, if they enjoy doing it, so be it, but of course, they can't expect me to like it and join them, lol!
