Peek-a-Boo

My son loves playing Peek-a-Boo, he also loves to watch this program in the Baby First TV cable channel named, well, Peek-a-Boo.

I swear, you will crack up at Johan's reaction everytime the show comes up. He will jump up and down in his crib, he will laugh aloud when he finally sees the blue character and he will wave bye-bye when the show ends. So cute.

Anyway, here are a few photos of our Peek-a-Boo sessions. I notice that he's happier when I hide behind the door and surprise him from there.

The hand =)

Where are you, Mommy?

Peek-a-boo! I see you!

Gotcha, Mommy!

 Priceless!

Going Gaga over Gargling

Ever had one of those days when you feel like your breath isn't fresh enough even if you've brushed your teeth before leaving home and chewed on a pack of mints every few minutes?

I must say, I've had one of those days and during that time I badly wished that I could escape to a nearby bathroom to brush my teeth and gargle some mouthwash.

That's why I am so thankful for the New Colgate Plax, I don't have to worry about having fresh (or not) breath all day long.

What's with the New Colgate Plax?

  • Colgate Plax kills bacteria up to 99%
  • Protects for 12 hours
  • Helps prevents cavities
  • Gives long lasting FRESH breath
  • No burning Sensation
And the best of all, it is clinically tested by dentists! So, you are guaranteed of the effectiveness of Colgate Plax. It even comes in a variety of flavors you can choose from.

Now, you don't have to bring a bottle of mouthwash everywhere you go. Just gloo gloo at home with the New Colgate Plax before leaving for work and you're all set and protected for the entire day. As for me, let's just say, I didn't have to worry about releasing unpleasant Co2 (Carbon Dioxide) when I blew the candle during my son's first birthday party. I am protected by the New Colgate Plax!

Hap Chan is Here!

First, I'm so sorry for the blurry photos as I only used my BB 9300's 2mp camera to take these shots.

I was so taken by surprise when I was about to exit the 7/11 store near SM Dasmarinas. I didn't expect to see a branch so far from the metro but I am not complaining. Hubby and mine's favorite Chinese Restaurant, Hap Chan is here! Yay!

There's no need for us to brave the heavy traffic along Aguinaldo Highway just to get to the nearest Hap Chan branch (which is in Makati) and devour our favorite dishes.

Clockwise from top left: Chicken Feet, Lemon Chicken, Yang Chao Fried Rice, the complimentary Jasmine Tea,  Lemon Iced Tea, Spare Ribs and Beef Broccoli

Just looking at these photos makes me so hungry. I wish hubby would treat me out to Hap Chan soon!

Craving for Some Me Time

I am just tired. Chasing, well, teaching a little boy to walk on his own is draining. It puts too much strain on my back, shoulders and hips. Add to that the "silent treatment" I am giving hubby since yesterday which you can read more about here. I am physically and emotionally drained.

I wish I could just walk away from it all, even for just a day, and take care of myself a little bit more and...

Get a massage
Lie on the beach, watch the clouds and listen to the waves
Enjoy a tall Iced Caramel Macchiato
Have my nails done
I wish I could..

One Sad Post

Without these two, my life would have no meaning. I don't know what would become of me if I lose either of them. Words would not be able to comprehend the silent, lonely space that my life would become if these two would banish from my world.

I refuse to watch the video of the two-year old Chinese girl who was ran over by two vehicles. I know myself, I would not be able to sleep for days, I will be tremendously disturbed and affected by it and I can't bear the thought of what if it is my son that was ran over. Hubby proved me right. He watched the video and can't put the images out of his mind. He said it was the first time that he got really affected by a video, probably because he already have Johan. He said, he kept on seeing our son as the little child in the video.

I don't know what the parents of the kid would do should the little girl dies. If it were us, I know eventually we will move on but our lives will not be the same. There will be a huge hole in our hearts that will never be healed. Yes, we will resume our daily routines, we will get back to work, we will try our best to regain composure. But for me that is really not living, just existing.

Let's offer a minute of prayer for the little girl's recovery soul (she died today). So sad.

Much Needed Time Out

I didn't notice that I was having mommy burn-out the past few days but I did notice that I've been so not myself - losing patience over the simplest of things and being overly hot tempered which I blame on the inconsistent weather that we're having. Isn't it near Christmas already, then why does it feel like it's summer?!

Anyway, last Saturday, I had my much needed time out. We had the chance to get out of the house and meet up with our college buddies and see my bestfriend who came home from Singapore to celebrate her son's baptism and first birthday here in the Philippines.

Meeting up with old friends is very refreshing. Passing on the task of carrying Johan to hubby even for a little while takes a lot off my tired back and shoulders. Getting reacquainted with the outside world (beyond YM and Facebook) is very uplifting.

I enjoyed the company of my friends tremendously and I gladly welcomed the tall glass of Iced Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks like an old friend. The game of bowling, which I miss a lot, was a nice way to cap off the evening.

Here are some photos:

The milk bottles look like they'll soon outnumber the frappes and iced coffees!

My favorite photo - because all the dads gave the moms some much needed girl time and took care of the kids

My favorite little person

With my two favorite people

Outfit booboo - my white tank top showed when the camera flash was used, should have worn a black one instead

A shot of the scores - hubby and I won, yey!

Group photo

'Twas a night to remember and even though we had to go through hell of a traffic on our way home, there's no lying that we really had fun. I wish we could do this at least once a month. Ehem, ehem, watcha think, guys?

I have a Dream

I have a dream and I'm slowly making my way to fulfilling it. The whole idea is still under careful construction but I already made the first of the many steps that would take me to where I wanted to be.

I hope you show some support to my new baby - a new blog that is very close to my heart and I hope would be close to yours as well.

I will never be a perfect mother and I can only pray to be good enough for my son and would be kids but like other moms, I believe that I am doing the best I could for my family and for that I believe I am super. Hence the birth of my new blog:

Let's all be super moms together!

Please visit I am Super Nanay, I promise I will be posting relevant content soon and you can add me up on Twitter by clicking the photo below.

Preparing the Weekly Menu

I am not domesticated. Well, when it comes to the kitchen at least. I admit that I don't have the confidence to take full control of the cooking, I don't trust my taste buds really well if it would be me preparing dishes for the family. Yeah, I suck at cooking that's why my MIL is the one in-charge of the kitchen.

A few days ago, hubby made it known that I even suck at planning what to cook. You see, I list down the stuff that MIL should buy from the market and it usually consists of ingredients for the same dishes every week. The other day hubby told me he's done with having Adobo every single week. He said he already had enough Adobo that his system might be running on soy sauce instead of blood. Funny. Ha. Ha.

So, I promised I will prepare a weekly menu of varying dishes and will not repeat a dish at least a month after it has been served. I browsed CasaVeneracion.com and so far, I have made two-weeks worth of menu. I copied the recipes on a word document and printed them out for MIL.

I only hope I could keep this up and that I don't run out of dishes to serve or else hubby might run away from me already. =)

Babywearing and a Wish for a Mei Tai

I love wearing Johan. It is so convenient because my hands are free for everything else and I think we grew closer together because of it.

We used the RJellyBean's Ring Sling at home when he was a few months old.

Personally, I find the ring sling hard to use with all the adjustments I had to make. It's easy to put in the baby, though, but, adjusting and readjusting the sling is just too much for me.

We used the Chicco Carrier a couple of times. I found it uncomfortable for me and Johan because the material is too stiff and I can't put Johan in and out of the carrier without help from another person.
