Mommy Moments – Black and White

 

This week on Mommy Moments, our theme is black and white. I really love this effect on photos as this add a bit more emotion or drama to an already preserved special moment.

Here is my entry:

This is one of the first few photos that were taken of Johan and me at the hospital. This was the time when he was brought in to be roomed in with me. My sister caught the newborn Johan looking at my direction, grabbed the camera and took this shot. Such a priceless moment.

I know there would be a huge probability that I’d be a stage mother. As young as he is, I’ve entered Johan’s photos to various contests online and we’re still waiting for that one huge win. Now with all the hype surrounding that huge wedding that’ll happen tomorrow in London, Youji&Me thought of hosting a photo contest in commemoration to the supposedly “Wedding of the Century”. And of course, I joined. This time, though, the photo entry is a wedding picture but the prize is still for my baby.

Pfffftt!

I don’t know what’s with Johan nowadays. He used to be so talkative, uttering different syllables even saying “daa-dee” at times but he’s been quiet these past few days and his words were only limited to “pffft”.


He says it after taking a bath, while taking a bath, during his meal times, after meal times,  while we’re watching his Baby Mozart DVD, while his Daddy plays with him. Well, in short, he does it all the time.

So what is “pfftt”? Lemme show you…

Johan’s First Summer Outing

Last Saturday, April 23rd, officially started the summer for Johan. He went to his first ever summer outing with his Tan relatives. I am very excited for this because I know how much Johan loves his bath time especially these days when it’s humid from morning till evening. He loves splashing water in his tub at home and I cannot wait to see him have fun in a real swimming pool. Even his Loly (my mom) is excited for this that she bought him a swimsuit even if I already bought him a pair of trunks.

I prepped him up the morning of the event, I talked to him and told him to enjoy the day and please don’t make a repeat of his performance during his cousin Cyrus’ birthday a few weeks back where he cried his lungs out almost all throughout the event.

He was okay when we arrived at the resort. He was smiling at my siblings and my parents. But, when my other relatives talked to him this began:

So, we changed him into the swimsuit that my mom bought and look at how cute he looks in it:

Then we went to the pool area and…I’ll let the photos do the talking:

The crying started..

and went on…

and on even when we’re out of the pool.

We guessed it was the cold water in the pool that made him uncomfortable and the many people calling his name. So, we ended up here:

Even if Johan spent (almost) the entire day crying, it was still a good experience for him and our family. We get to capture priceless moments in photos and it was a good bonding experience for Mommy, Daddy and Cry Baby. =)

Mommy Moments - Birthday Photo

Only after going though the photos for this week’s entry of Mommy Moments did I realize that I failed to have a photo taken with my cake during my birthday early this year. Hee hee! Memory loss comes with age, I guess. =)

Busy Brain

I’ve spent the entire weekend thinking about this project that I want to start real soon. I have been conceptualizing and thinking of how I will be able to pull this off. It’s not really something big but it would be something that I am very passionate about these days. I just hope I’d be able to achieve what I am aiming for. Time is ticking. My target date is Mother’s Day!

Mommy Moments – Summer Plans

My side of the family will be having our annual summer outing on the 23rd. This is going to be Johan’s 2nd pool outing since he already went to one last October when he was barely a month old. That was for my Tita’s birthday celebration and since Johan’s too young, he was not able to dip in the pool yet. This coming outing though, Johan will go swimming with me or with his Daddy. I’m pretty sure he’s not going to cry because he enjoys his bath time so much.

We’ll also be going to the outing on Hubby’s side of the family on the 30th. We just hope that Johan gets used to being around people and not cry.

Our second wedding anniversary is also coming up on May 8. Hubby and I have not made any plans just yet. I wanted to go to Tagaytay since it’s nearer but I also want to hear mass at Ermita Church where we got married to say thanks like what we did last year. Hopefully, it will still be a memorable celebration even if it will only be a simple one.

Happy 6th Month Birthday, Johan!

Today Johan now weighs 9kg and measures 70cm! According to his pedia, his development is already for an eight to nine-month-old baby! We had his well baby check up today and his pedia said that he is doing very well health-wise.

What he can do at six months:

• hold his toes
  
• say Daaa-dyyy!
  
• little bits of crawling
  
• answer back when being talked to (mostly gurglish but still..)
  
• had his first solid food – banana mixed with his formula
  
• move objects from one hand to another (proof that his motor skills are doing very well)
  
• push himself backwards and sideways while riding his walker

 

Sorry for the cake baby, we need to cut down our expenses for this month. We’ll make it up next month. =)

Mommy Moments – Congratulations

Johan is only turning six months on Monday but he sure earned his own achievements this early. I’m talking about his milestones and I am one proud and happy Mommy to have witnessed them all.
